Polyurea technology has now been in the marketplace for about 20 years.  Like most new technologies polyurea based products have experienced the typical problems of new systems qualification.  Some early applications were subjected to inappropriate environments or were installed without proper regard to basic good practices for substrate preparation.  These difficulties naturally reflected adversely on the entire technology, yet the science of the materials provided a strong enough argument was made so that continued interest was sustained.

Unlike many other coating technologies, polyurea products are actually manufactured in the field.  This requires special attention to the conditions of the project itself as well as the requirements of proper material processing.  The learning curve for use of the specialized equipment and processing characteristics of the various systems has been rather steep.  PolyVers was established as a division of VersaFlex Incorporated, one of the original manufacturers of polyurea products in the USA; and was organized to bring the best products, knowledge and support for polyurea to the global communities.

VersaFlex has devoted many years of effort to building a knowledge base about polyurea products, equipment and installation techniques.  This knowledge base is expressed through the many employees, agents and affiliated applicators that have come to realize the significant advantages inherent in polyurea based products.  The increasing demand for products meeting environmentally sound practices has added a considerable emphasis to the growth of interest in polyurea. 

Working closely with equipment providers, chemists and responsible applicators, VersaFlex/PolyVers continues to extend its family of polyurea people into the global markets.  Polyurea products continue to provide answers to both new and old issues facing the human family and the welfare of the environment. 

As the years have passed many additional participants in this unique technology have arisen.  Some have approached the markets in a responsible manner, taking care to provide the necessary support and training to insure successful use of the products.  The requirement for proper specification, installation and use of these systems has not diminished but as the expansion of uses has increased so also has the knowledge base broadened.
